Will be up to you as to how you fix to the walls (3M Command Adhesive strips recommended) 

Cut out of thick 2mm steel plate,

These are done in plain bare steel so you can paint them yourself to suit your decor, you can also keep them dry and they should stay as is or let them rust for a great old effect.
